Alex hung up the phone before either of them could say anymore. He didn’t want to upset Lea anymore, after all she was in the hospital. He stood from where he was sitting on the hallway floor and after peaking into the bedroom to see that Kristin was still asleep he made his way to the office. He tossed his phone onto one of the chairs, not wanting to look at it anymore. Once seated behind the desk his head fell into his hands and he began to cry. Things had to be this way. He had convinced himself of that. The only way to move on was for her to hate him. So how was it that now that she hated him he couldn’t bare it. He wanted to take it all back. He turned on the computer and started joining in on this stupid post war with Lea. It was almost like who could hurt the other one more.
He wanted to be with Kris, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that he also wanted to be with Lea. It had been the same way when he was with Lea, he had also wanted to be with Kris. That’s how he knew he loved them both the same because no matter who he chose he was always going to want the other too. Lea deserved better than him. Kristin and Alex, they just made sense. They got along so well and thought the same way. He knew he was going to be happy with her, but he just wanted things to be okay with Lea. He wanted her to understand how sorry he was and he wanted the friendship back. He knew it was going to take time and he knew it hurt her, but he also wanted her to understand that it was hurting him too.
